Guess it’s India/Food week at VatulBlog.
Maisnon Esq. informs me that “SFist talks about a cookbook called Saffron to Sassafras – Indian and Cajun recipes. Proceeds to help the Baton Rouge Capital Area Battered Women’s Program and other charities for women and children in Louisiana.”
The new release authored by board members of the Sharing Shores Indian Women’s Association of Baton Rouge contains “220 recipes in 11 chapters, [including] cooking tips and personal stories, plus lots of full-color photographs of completed dishes … a story and recipe from U.S. Rep. Bobby Jindal, R-Kenner, who shares his recollections of his grandfather teaching him how to make hot chocolate. There is also a recipe from Gov. Kathleen Blanco, and there are several recipes from chef John Folse.” [Full article at The Advocate]
$30 for a cookbook chock full of yummy recipes with all proceeds going to help area women and children? This is what I call a no-brainer. Buy this book now! My copy is on the way.
Is there a Wham song that goes with this cookbook?
“Last Christmas, I gave you some recipes
But the floodwalls broke and they were washed away
This year, to save me from carpal tunnel syndrome,
It’s all in one book, ain’t that special?”
OR
“Baaaaaaby, eat that naan!”
OR
“You can use my credit card, baby
As long as you keep those red hot chilis
In my tikka masala, lady!”
You do scare me sometimes. Btw, Dr. A wants to try your chana some time. It’s one of her favorite dishes.
OK – I am getting a copy too…
