Cannizzaro has the labor endorsement.
I voted for Capitelli. I think as legal philosophies go, these guys are pretty much on par with each other. For me, it came down to managerial experience. Capitelli has run a DA office before and knows how to get it functional again.
The cops I have talked to all seem to prefer Capitelli, for what that’s worth.
I’m going with Canizerro. He has run a model courtroom in the past. When Bodenheimer had to step down, Canizerro was asked to take over his docket by the supreme court and cleared it up quickly. He has skill managing a large staff with a lot of different personalities.
Capitelli…he runs a firm with a staff of 3 full time employees! Thats enough for me.
alli, are you talking about when Capitelli was first assistant DA almost 30 years ago? Jimmy Carter was President when Ralph Capitelli last ran a DA office.
Ok, more info: Clay tells me that the RDO endorses Steve Scalise, John Kennedy and Leon Cannizzaro, so vote Capitelli. Also, the dangerous blonde advises me to vote Capitelli.
Thanks Maitri. My D here and I have had same discussion with similar results. Yesterday I was leaning toward Capitelli but for no real clearcut reason. That’s been the problem here at my house. But if the Blonde girl says Capitelli, I’ll take her opinion and if someone is endorsing Scalise, Kennedy, AND Cannizaro that’s a good enough reason for me to vote against him.
BTW I wanna hear if the doll really says Islam is the Light.
I wish I could help you. My husband works in that office 70 hours a week and he wasn’t even sure who he wanted in the primaries. Our house is voting for Cannizaro. Both guys are probably in league with a lot of people but I find Capitelli’s friends to be particularly unsavory.
FWIW, I’m for Cannizzaro; the best judge I ever practiced before. Capitelli is a rich defense lawyer. DB’s wrong on this one.
Ralph is our neighbor, we’ve been friends with the family since they moved on the block after K. I had no idea he was even a lawyer until earlier this year… and it’s not like I’ve got my head in the sand. In short, he has always been friendly, down-to-earth, and unpretentious. His wife is giving and nice. This means a lot to me.
I admit being overly jaded about the law, as I don’t believe that one can practice law and not be at least a little bit dirty — or in it for the money or the power. Yes, Ralph has definitely made a lot of money in his profession. But I believe in his integrity and interest in making the city a better place, and I’m not one that can easily believe that about any attorney.
