In other news, D and I waited until Saturday afternoon for Harry Potter 5 to avoid the mass of screaming little humanity and feeble parental attempts to shush it up. Whomever promoted this movie overdid it — by the time it got to theatres, we’d watched most of the good bits on the internet. Ralph Fiennes continues to disappoint as Voldemort (stop the Gollum Meets Baryshnikov shtick and get a nose already), but I adored the thestrals and the portrayal of Luna Lovegood. Ray feels pretty much the same way I do about everything else in the movie, except for two things: the best part for me was the strawberry daiquiri, and, next time, more Ssssnape!

Oh there will certainly be more Snape in the next film you can count on that! I think Menckles and I liked this movie more than just about anyone we’ve talked to… I told Ray as much already. It’s certainly better than the last one anyway.
It was better than the last one because we saw a lot more outside of Hogwart’s, like you said. And, yes, I expect HP6 will have a lot more dreamy Alan Rickman … I mean, Snape.
