For the record, on seeing the Vitter headline this morning, my first thought after a stifled snort was, “What’s Oyster going to do with this one?”
The current results of the nola.com ABC26 poll show that only about 55% think David “I may not be a good Christian, but you’d better be one” Vitter should resign. Normally, I’d dismiss this as typical of the commenters at nola.com, but it’s not noon yet and I’ve already run into several who think this news is much ado about a man fooling around. Funny, given that Vitter lauded Bob Livingston’s resignation after the exposure of his affairs, and used it as a signal for Clinton to resign (HT, Suspect Device). Perhaps a step down will allow Vitter time to focus on his own family for a change.
Update: The Oyster hath spoken.
Nothing beats the comments by his wife a few years ago:
“I’m a lot more like Lorena Bobbitt than Hillary. If he does something like that, I’m walking away with one thing, and it’s not alimony, trust me.”
Hell hath no fury like a woman scored!
‘Honey, what are you doing with that knife?’
