French Quarter Festival pictures are here; still awaiting those from my analog camera.
* Kermit’s wedding and show were great.
* Amanda’s CD release party at Carrollton Station was a lot of fun. Her debut album got a nice small review from Keith Spera of the T-P; Caleb Guillote (of Deadeye Dick) and Craig Caliva opened for her.
* The Arabi Wrecking Krewe Allstars are rockstars! They brought in Al “Carnival Time” Johnson for a few songs. And Leroy Jones waved and yelled, “Hey, baby” to me from the stage.
* Mark Mullins of Bonerama can still work it!
* Bubba Gump’s shrimp cakes had no shrimp in them (edit: their shrimp and andouille on a skewer sure made up for the corn cakes). Atoned for it by eating yummy crawfish cakes at The Columns.
Hah. Bubba Gump. You expected, what, shrimps? I’ve eaten at Deanie’s twice in two days, once in Bucktown with my visiting mother-in-law and downtown today with business visitors. Get yourself some of those crawfish balls on Crawfish Quartet plate and forget Bubba Gump!
