Day 514: Tulane Environmental Law Conference

Please attend the Tulane University 12th Annual Environmental Conference on Law, Science and the Public Interest on March 9th and 10th, 2007. Registration begins on February 1st at the Tulane Environmental Law Website. Attendance is free!

All topics of discussion – national, state, local and legal – are listed on the website. Issues of local interest are debris and recycling, wetland treatment of municipal wastewater, storm water capacity, and levees, gates and restoration. Invited keynote speakers are Edward Blakely, New Orleans Executive Director for Recovery Management, and Senator Mary Landrieu.

Local bloggers and environmental activists are encouraged to attend. This is one chance to educate ourselves on the legal and scientific issues surrounding the redevelopment of destroyed areas we speak and write so much about.
