After much blood, sweat, tears and gnashing of teeth (on the part of developers and end users), WordPress 2.1 is finally here. Never one to purchase or install the first edition of anything – except for the 8th Nissan XTerra ever made – I took the plunge and upgraded VatulBlog this evening. Can you tell? No? Good. That’s the point.
Here’s an exhaustive list of changes, most of which attempt to modernize the code; the only ones I’m concerned with are stabilizers. Despite the new Autosave functionality, I still believe in these golden words: Save early and save often.
Now will probably be a good time to understand and fix my broken Pingbacks and Trackbacks, which haven’t been working since the end of August 2006 when I upgraded to WP 2.0.4. Grrrr!!! Do you think it has to do with the .htaccess file? If so, what’s a good program to edit it that can deal with the filename (besides naming it 1.htaccess, etc.)?
