Project Gutenberg announces the release of the “Build Your Own Public Library” DVD.
This DVD is constructed to provide you with a starting point to build your very own library of 30,000 volumes on a single DVD.
The current version is 2/3 completed and has room for you to select eBooks from the rest of the Internet to fill out those last 1/3 at your pleasure, given that the ~20,000 eBooks already now in place take up 2.87 gigabytes, thus leaving about 1.51G on a 4.38G DVD or 1.61G on a 4.48G DVD +R for you to thus complete your own home version of public library book collections. [The average public library contains about 30,000 books.]

I guess I’m losin’ it. When I first read your title, I thought
you were being sarcastic….why? Because I read in the T-P
yesterday that there isn’t enough money to fix up the Algiers
library. So we get a temp trailer that can hold 15 peoples.
I used to use the library frequently as I really believe
in the service they provide. Before I got my laptop that
was how I accessed the internet, sent resume’s, etc.
Oh well.
