June 8, 2006This explains why it took 45 minutes to get the shampoo out of my hair last night.  “85 million gallons of [New Orleans] drinking water [are] leaking into the ground every day.”  With our super-high water table, it’s a wonder any of our streets and levees stay put.

    As I said to Julie once, “The New Orleans water table is so high, you can put chairs next to it.”

    And the three stages of the media cycle – elaboration, condescension and participation?
