Colloids from the histamine-induced miasma:
1. The national media attempts the use of logic and discussion to predict the outcome of our mayoral race. Time-wasting fools. We all know that Landrieu is going to win because he just got the nod from Paul Morton.
An aside: Rarely one to downplay the collusion between publishing/media and politics, even I have to frown at the Nagin-camp theory that the release of Douglas Brinkley’s The Great Deluge was timed to coincide with Nagin’s final campaign push. Even if it were the case, did Brinkley and his representatives forestall the release of the book in the case of C. Ray’s primary win?
2. In another example of the disconnect between Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Dick Cheney will deliver LSU’s commencement address this year. My favorite line from today’s The Daily Reveille: “Five students gathered … in the Quad to discuss plans for multiple protests of the distinguished speaker.”
Hey hey ho ho. All incumbents have got to go.
Not bad for a histamine-induced miasma. The Cheney thing floors me.
