Washington Post | Murkowski resolution fails, 47 to 53
Lisa Murkowski’s resolution blocking the EPA’s authority to regulate carbon failed in the Senate today, 47 to 53. Six Democrats crossed over: Mark Pryor, Evan Bayh, Ben Nelson, Jay Rockefeller, Blanche Lincoln and Mary Landrieu.
Jay Rockefeller and Mary Landrieu ought to be ashamed of themselves. When environmental horrors have befallen their respective states time and time again, these Democrats vote to defang regulatory agencies.
The next time someone wonders why the president cannot “just tell BP what to do” or why our government does not have the ability to fix oil gushing from the bottom of the sea and all resultant problems, I am going to pull up this post and throw the monitor at them.
