I thought we would be done.
Who could really even think that far ahead? I’m moving out of the city on Saturday… that’s what I’m thinking. Two years to the day that I moved back.
You’ve done a great job with all this, Maitri. Thanks.
I was told right after the storm from a Hurricane Camille veteran that five years would mark the time when things would start to look and feel “normal” again. Sadly, New Orleans has been bogged down by lack of leadership from Ray Nagin and Blanco, so her recovery will take longer.
Hmmm, I’m still putting up sheetrock so I don’t know if I can throw stones…
I remember hearing it would take ten years to get back to normal, and thinking to myself that was a pretty rosy estimate.
