Day 926: American Crusade Trading Cards: A Revival

Nero: Sings at Gridiron Club dinner.
Rome Burns: Attack kills 5 soldiers in Baghdad; More wiretapping is fun!

Whatever happened to the American Crusade and Operation Iraqi Freedom trading cards? We need to get those folks to update and keep reminding us of the real timeline.

A friend often talks to me of sending care packages to our soldiers in Iraq. It’s a great idea. Those overworked men and women ought to have the most meager of creature comforts – candy bars, comics and the latest in music and movies – while their patriotism is abused in this manner. A little voice warns me against it. “Your name is Maitri V-R, you are brown and you were born in Kuwait City. The military will check your background, come to know of your anti-war sentiments, consider you a Terrist and lock you up in Gitmo for even trying to contact the troops, where even Father Jonathan cannot come through.” Consider it paranoia, but do you blame me given our current regime?

    Oh Poop Darlin’!

During the run-up to war I made cards (modeled on the Greater Arcana) to illustrate my feelings concerning Team Bush and the unfolding dramas.

Friends loved them, but all those files drowned when the Canal Walls broke. I don’t know if I have it in me anymore.
