One more for “Everything comes from India” Uncle: Many Mammals Came from India, Discovery Suggests

Not only does new evidence suggest that the K-T mass extinction came about due to massive volcanic eruptions in what is now the southeastern part of India, the mammalian explosion of the early Cenozoic seems to have taken place there as well.  Note that at the time in question, India was an island on a plate subducting beneath southern Asia, which may have provided unperturbed evolution with a lot of time.
