What do you know? It’s bipartisan time in Louisiana as Bobby Jindal (R) becomes the first Indian-American to enter a governor’s mansion and Mitch Landrieu (D) retains his position as first lieutenant. Go Mitch, go Mitch, go Mitch!
Closer to home, 86% of precincts have reported in the City Council At Large race showing Cynthia Windy-Lewis ahead of Virginia Boulet and Jackie Clarkson by approximately 10 points. Algiers hasn’t come in yet, so this may lead to a Cynthia-Jackie runoff. Yuck. Edit: It is a runoff between Cynthia Willard-Lewis and Jackie Clarkson. Yuck.
Huh, more people voted for Kaare Johnson than for Tommie Vassel. As Karen Gadbois says, “Hey, he’s a Sportscaster.”
Karen Carter remains state representative from my District 93 with 79% of the vote.
With 4% of precincts yet to report, It appears to be is a two-way runoff between Cheryl Gray and Jalila Jefferson-Bullock for State Senate District 5. How awful that Jalila beat out David Williams by 1.29 percent.
Sitting in my bathrobe, refreshing the browser every twenty seconds like a chronic voter and watching Mythbusters for sanity is actually kinda fun. And, yes, the ballot pictured above is indeed mine.
Nobody except for the Picayune knows who Tommie Vassel is. All I know about him is that he’s a stiff.
He’s a dead man in a meat locker?
Bi-partisan mean in the current political climate, “agree with us or we’ll say your not listening”
I’m not encouraged.
50 votes, man. Jefferson got 50 more votes than Williams. Where was everyone today?
I was torn between Gray and Williams and ended up voting Gray because I think she can beat Jalila. Jalila had a blitz of signs, including in the yards of many retired folk and some persons of dubious occupation with visitors on bikes going in and out frequently. I’d guess Jalila’s campaign workers hit the streets and convinced those home to place a sign in their yard. Anybody but Jalila, please. (Is there a stop-the-Jefferson-family-machine type campaign in the works?)
was glad to see your comment on SM!
