My software and I want to do the same thing today – crash. Sleeeeepy time. The interweb has coughed up some gems in the last 24 hours so I don’t have to.
* Perhaps a strong cup of coffee and this picture of Amy Winehouse will kick my Linux box into submission.
* Fundraiser for the Jena 6 Legal Team – this Saturday afternoon at Vaughan’s in the Bywater. See the flyer for more information and the sheer amount of talent that will be present.
* At last night’s Ben Franklin High School College Fair, which D and I attended on behalf of UW-Madison, a Lakeview couple told me they’re building a retirement home in Crandon, WI. Yes, that Crandon, WI, where residents are still in shock, the town is in lockdown and the nation’s highest per capita crime rate now resides. Some punk in Cleveland tried to take the title away, but only ended up making an ass and dead meat of himself. Following that, a train derailed and caught fire in Toledo. My immediate reaction: If Dayton is the center of the universe, the end will begin in northeast Ohio. Gotta warn the family.
* All is good as long as he doesn’t sing Silent Lucidity. The Saints’ theme song this year is more like Loud Obfuscation. The Seawhawks suck, so this will be an interesting game.
* Another Council At Large forum tonight and broadcast on New Orleans teevee.
* Speaking of TV, Schroeder takes this picture apart exactly as I wanted to after telling you about it yesterday.
* Good night.
Dayton is in SW Ohio. (says the crazy Swamp Girl who has lectured there. LOL) But I do know what you meant.
Sleep tight.
Amy Winehouse, that carpetbagger. She borrowed Sharon Jones’ Dap-Kings to back her on her album and in some live performances. As Sharon herself has said, “Get your own band.”
Poseur.
Morwen, I probably know the geography of Ohio better than you having lived or visited there every year since 1981. It’s a physics irony thing – center here, black vacuum of destruction not so far away in the NE. To be exact, Dayton is in west-central Ohio.
Liprap, it’s ok, Amy is too drugged up or can’t stand up for even her original pieces any longer.
I forgot. They tried to make her go to rehab, but she said no, no, no…
The game was interesting and fun, especially that first Saints touchdown. Being surrounded by decked-out Seahawks fans (on the “visitors side” of the stadium) while wearing black & gold was a better experience than I’d anticipated… I was the only obvious Saints fan in that particular seating section. My status as a good luck charm has been reconfirmed.
