But only 115 days to Krewe du Vieux! Last Thursday evening, as I languished in a hotel room in San Antonio, my no-nonsense husband helped the mutha krewe vote on a theme before we all get old and die. It is Krewe du Vieux’s Magical Misery Tour. Subkrewes are abuzz with Beatles-related themes, while Krewe de C.R.A.P.S. may end up doing something a little different.
The post-parade ball will not be at the State Palace Theatre this year, so await a route change that leads us back into the Marigny. Woohoo, we will not have to cross Bourbon! *crosses herself*
With being in three krewes and requiring four costumes this season, Halloween notwithstanding, guess who is finally going to have to learn how to use the sewing machine without assistance.
Just watch those fingers on the sewing machine! Don’t BE the costumes, MAKE the costumes. And, as my grandmother says, wear ’em well.
The next Mardi Gras is my 24th birthday.
