The wp-post function in WordPress 2.1.2 frustrates, educates and motivates the user, mostly in the desire to pull out hair and sulk. In my third attempt to publish the last post, I narrowed down the problem to the ping function in Options –> Writing –> Update Services and not my server. The short answer: Problem is solved by removing all of the Update Services contents and installing another ping plug-in, which is currently unavailable. Problem is worsened when one realizes that GeoPress relies on the ping service. As the Lord closes one door, he opens another can of worms.
