Is there a mosquito convention in town? Since last evening, I can’t go anywhere without running into a swarm of them. Did every single larva in NOLA hatch prematurely this warm January, and what kind of a disease risk does such a phenomenon pose?

Knowing my luck they did hatch.
Break out the bug spray!
We’ve got 4″ of snow – but no skeeters!
These seem to be of the “big and slow” variety – easy to swat, at least. I have about ONE BILLION in my yard, probably due to the plastic flower pot full of water I found while mowing today. Doh.
Hopefully tonight’s cold front will get rid of a lot of them.
It’s getting cold and wet out. Die, mosquitoes, die!
