Day 312: Moments Best Forgotten

Work life has been a tad stressful lately with a well drilling in the Gulf of Mexico.  Each member of the team is on call and every critical decision juncture is akin to bronco wrasslin’ in an emergency room.  To help keep our tasks in perspective, J sent our team video footage of a real drilling disaster.

“If you thought [your well] was tough, here is a cool video of Lake Peigneur being sucked into a salt mine that was breached by a drilling rig in Louisiana.”

Many of you may have heard of this sad 1980 incident when a “deep, salt-water, lake near New Iberia” and the surrounding neighborhood were sucked into a hole drilled by an oil rig right in the middle of the lake.  “At that time, Diamond Crystal operated a salt mine under the lake while a Texaco oil rig was drilling down from the surface of the lake.”

Yes, it could have been a lot worse.  Jean Claude van Damme could have been dancing (badly) on my rig while his nemeses looked on.  [video]

YouTube … the new boob tube.

Speaking of boobs, the bikini is 60, as is The First Baby Boomer.  Coincidence?
