As if wading through this morning’s torrential downpour wasn’t fun enough, we’ll be doing it again tomorrow morning with borrowed vigor.

Is it bad that my reaction to all this is: “Great, it’s going to rain next weekend in New York” ?
Parochially yours,

p.s. What is it about people living in New Orleans when they know that a category 5 hurricane is probably going destroy the city someday? Bravery? Inertia? Chutzpah? :)
There’s a reason New Orleans is a.k.a. The Big Easy. No one cares. In fact, they have to be given t-shirts by the local government that say “I Care” in order to show motivation.
The sad thing is that a lot of people here can’t move out; they just don’t have the economic wherewithal or the inclination. They were born here, their family and friends reside here, they will die here.
This city is screwed. Which is why the whole thing is unfortunate, but not unfair.
