Day 331: Are You Ready For Some Football?

July 25, 2006

in hurricane katrina, new orleans, wisconsin

I thought of posting this to New Orleans Metroblogs but scratched that idea out of respect for Saints fans and the fear of a beating from the same.

Tagliabue impressed by Superdome repairs

Before he left, Tagliabue asked Tom Keller, the project manager for Brazos Urethane, Inc. who oversaw the recently completed $32 million roof replacement, for his yellow hard hat, featuring Saints and Green Bay Packers logos. Tagliabue said he plans to include it in an exhibit at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio commemorating the stadium renovation.

Go PACKERS! (No one would get my hard hat with Packer logo, though. Never!)

Whose mug advertises the Pro Football Hall of Fame in the Akron Canton Regional Airport? Why, that of my boy, of course!

NFL talk makes any rainy, malfunctioning-software-filled day better. Forget basketball and golf, I can’t wait for football season.

Where did the $185,000,000 come from? The NFL? I don’t think so.

I can’t wait for football season.

;) A girl after my own heart (even if we do not cheer on the same teams)!

Okay, you win extra brownie points in my book. They’d be kheer/paayasam points, but I don’t know how to make that. I am, however, a big fan of some rice pudding recipes, and the addition of cardomom and pistachios sounds enchanting.

By the way (there’s no contest — I’m sure you’d win), I want to again express my hope to have a blogger iron chef party. My first thought for an ingredient was, in fact, cardomom!

Maybe we could sample your paayasam?

Oh, and you rock for mentioning the GB Packers in a New Orleans blog!

Of course, you can have a bowl of my paayasam.  It’s good stuff!  I usually guzzle it down faster than my mom or brother’s wife can produce it.

Once a Packer fan, always a shameless and loyal Packer fan. My blog, my dime, my football team! Go #4 Brett Favre w00t!

My Super team won the Superbowl at the Superdome, ‘member?

Oh, and can anyone answer Blair’s question as to who signed the $185-mil check for Superdome repairs? I want to say it came from the state budget. Anyone? Bueller?

Probably FEMA.

I’m still game for the Iron Chef: Nola Bloggers division. However, if it was me v. Maitri, you guys would probably have the secret ingredient be lentils.

I was born a Packer fan, ’cause dere weren’t no Saints. Then in ’67, my life was doomed.

I can’t imagine where you might have been when Brett was dancing on the pool tables in F&M’s Patio bar on Tchopitoulas back in 1997.

Best wishes with Mike McCarthy.

Sorry Brett couldn’t join the Black and Gold before he retired.
